Men of letters and philosophers have remembered the OLD AGE as a painful era in the life. Complaints are lodged about physical and mental weakness and also about a kind of farewell to the juvenile pleasures. However, in spite of resemblance of the wording to express these complaints, a review of the texts of the Persian Literature on the one hand, and the discourse of Cicero, the Roman author and philosopher of the first century A.D on the other, opens a broadest horizon to us, which reveals the insight of the society towards the human life in common. Our men of letters have considered the proportion of behaviors to AGE, while always remembering the termination of the days of youth with envy, and giving themselves up to the certain demise. However, Cicero encourAGEs the wise OLD AGE to overcome the consequences of weakness of human body and mind, and consoles the OLD AGE with the advice which are a sign of his sound judgment and optimism towards the life. A collation of these sayings about the OLD AGEs afflictions represents diverse interpretations of the man’s status in the creation given by the east and west.

If it was possible to regard OLD AGE not as a physical stAGE but as a stAGE in life with its own special social value, we would then realize that it is not only the youth that are the assets of the society but the OLD people as well. In each society, no matter how much executive power is available, the society will not develop if there is not enough experience. The AGEd are unpublished books that should be made accessible to the young executive power so that they can use their experience in the interest of the society. To establish communication with the AGEd is an extremely delicate task. To invite them into our world, we need to take special care and make special efforts. The purpose of this article is to refer to these efforts.

Introduction: Aging is also a pandemic process in living organisms, including humans, and it is a sensitive period of life that changes the different dimensions of a person's life. Psychological factors affecting physical and mental health during this period include attachment styles. The present study was therefore aimed at examining the differences in attachment styles between middle-AGEd, elderly and elderly. Methods: The present research method was based on the study and comparison of the differences between the three groups. The statistical community of this study was middle-AGEd (45-60 years), elderly (60-75 years) and OLD (75-90 years) in the cities of Tehran and Karaj, who were selected through the available sampling method and to the number of 180 statistical samples (60 middle-AGEd, 60 elderlies and 60 OLD). These people completed the Collins-Reed attachment style questionnaire(RAAS) online and individually and analyzed the data obtained from the questionnaire based on the one-way variance analysis method. Results: The results showed that avoidance attachment among the elderly and elderly had the highest averAGE, but the results of the variance analysis also showed that there was no significant difference between the elderly, middle-AGEd and elderly in terms of attachment styles. Conclusions: So it can be concluded that over time, there is not much difference in the attachment style between middle-AGEd and elderly and elderly.

Objectives: With regard to the increase in the elderly population in Iran and across the globe and their risk of suffering from chronic disease, this study was carried out with the aim of evaluating the view point of the Iranian elders about the concept of power.Method: In this qualitative study which was carried out using a content analysis method, 26 participants were selected using goal based sampling, and were examined over a 12 month period. Data were collected through interviews.Results: The main categories that emerged from this qualitative study, included: independence; being aware of personal changes; coping; perceived self ability; role playing; and mastery/owning.Conclusion: Understanding the viewpoint of the elderly regarding the structure of power, provides a firm basis for nursing care. In this study, perceived satisfaction and being in control which leads to an enhancement in the quality of life, forms the basis of power structure. The findings of this study can be used to design a model for empowering Iranian elderly.
